Case Information

A state court challenge to the congressional maps, based on the anticipated failure of the legislature to draw valid lines, and anticipated subsequent malapportionment.

On Nov. 16, 2021 and Dec. 16 2021, the trial court denied the state’s exceptions to the petition.  On Feb. 2, 2022, on appeal, the appellate court dismissed the suit, finding that venue for the claim was appropriate only in East Baton Rouge Parish.
