Case Information

Mandamus petition asking the state supreme court to prohibit and permanently enjoin the Virginia Redistricting Commission from counting incarcerated persons at their last known address pursuant Virginia’s statutory requirements. Petitioners claimed the statutory requirements conflicted with the Constitution of Virginia.

On Sep. 22, 2021, the Supreme Court of Virginia determined the petitioners were not entitled to the relief sought and dismissed the petition.
