Case Information
The Florida governor petitioned the Florida Supreme Court for an advisory opinion on whether state law requires the retention of a east-west district in northern Florida that connects minority populations in Jacksonville and in Leon/Gadsden counties.
On Feb. 10, 2022, the Florida Supreme Court declined to issue the advisory opinion, finding that the scope of the request implicated complex questions of state and federal law better suited to a case with a developed factual record.
