Federal court challenge to Texas’s congressional and state legislative maps. Plaintiffs allege that new districts dilute the voting power of the state’s minority populations in violation of ยง 2 of the Voting Rights Act and the 14th and 15th Amendments. Plaintiffs also allege that race was the predominant factor in the cracking of minority populations in several districts in violation of the 14th Amendment.
