A state challenge to the Governor’s proclamation calling the legislature into special session for mid-decade redistricting, and the Secretary of State’s adjustment of candidate qualifying deadlines predicated on that session, as a violation of the state separation of powers.

On Feb. 27, 2026, the state Supreme Court rejected the challenge.
