Opinion rewriting ballot summary
Case Information
A state court challenge to the summary for a legislatively-referred ballot proposition to amend a 2018 citizens’ redistricting initiative.
The trial court granted the petition for relief on Aug. 17, 2020; the court rejected the proposed ballot summary as misleading and substituted a new one.
On Aug. 31, 2020, the court of appeals agreed that the summary was misleading, but rewrote the summary to be used in November (with more limited changes to the legislature’s language).
