Case Information

A federal challenge to the constitutionality of the 2020 census, based on allegedly improper imputation of group quarters residents and the application of differential privacy.

On Feb. 3, 2026, the court dismissed the case as time-barred by the statute of limitations.  The plaintiffs filed a new complaint on Feb. 17, 2026, but that too was dismissed on July 7, 2026, for lack of standing.  That decision is now up on appeal.
