2020 Colorado Maps
Overview
In 2020 Colorado’s new districts were drawn by two independent 12-member commissions that were established by ballot initiative in 2018: the Colorado Independent Congressional Redistricting Commission and the Colorado Independent Legislative Redistricting Commission. The Colorado Supreme Court automatically reviews maps approved by the Commissions. The Court must make its decision on the congressional map by Nov. 1, 2021 and the state legislative maps by Nov. 15, 2021 [Colo. Const. art. V, ยงยง 44.5, 48.3].
The Independent Congressional Commission approved a congressional map on Sept. 28, 2021 and the Supreme Court heard testimony from concerned citizens on Oct. 12, 2021.
The Independent Legislative Commission approved state House and Senate maps on Oct. 11, 2021 and the Supreme Court heard testimony from concerned citizens on Oct. 25, 2021.
