A federal challenge (in Texas) to California’s proposed state constitutional initiative to allow a mid-decade legislative gerrymander, based on an allegation that the lines were drawn with stale data, and ostensible violations of the federal Constitution’s Elections and Guarantee Clauses.

On Oct. 31, 2025, the court dismissed the case for lack of standing.
