Case Information

State court action asking the Maine Supreme Court to extend the state constitutional deadline for the apportionment commission to submit proposed redistricting plans, in light of the delay in the release of the census data.

On Jul. 19, 2021, the court issued an order granting the request with respect to state legislative and congressional plans, extending the deadline for apportionment commission action to 45 days after the State of Maine received the relevant census data.
