People Not Politicians v. Hoskins I

Last Updated Apr 27, 2026
Case No. 25AC-CC07128 (Mo. Cir. Ct., Cole Cnty.), Nos. WD88522, WD88821 (Mo. Ct. App.)
Cycles 2020

Case Information

A state challenge to the rejection of selected referendum petitions as premature, because a bill passed by the legislature had not yet been signed by the governor.

On Dec. 12, 2025, the trial court ordered the case in abeyance until the total submitted signatures were either certified or rejected as insufficient.  As of April 27, 2026, the Secretary of State and several counties appear to be slow-walking signature verification and certification.
