Case Information

Federal court challenge to the state’s Senate districts as a violation of section 2 of the VRA.

On Jan. 26, 2024, the trial court denied a request for a preliminary injunction; on Mar. 28, 2024, that decision was affirmed on appeal.  On Sept. 30, 2025, after trial, the court rejected the challenge, finding that plaintiffs failed to prove multiple aspects of their Voting Rights Act claim; the decision has been appealed.
