Case Information

A state court challenge by proponents of a redistricting initiative to the State’s refusal to accept petitions from canvassers for whom background checks were “acquired” but allegedly without proof that they were “passed,” and to the rejection of the initiative based on the ballot summary.

On Aug. 27, 2020, the state Supreme Court rejected the challenge, on the basis that petitioners had not submitted background check certifications consistent with state law.
