Case Information

A federal court challenge to North Dakota’s state legislative districts, alleging that the new maps dilute the voting strength of Native American voters in violation of the Voting Rights Act.

On July 7, 2022, after a statement of interest from the DOJ, the court denied the state’s motion to dismiss.  The state has filed a motion for summary judgment.  Trial is currently set for June 12, 2023.
