Case Information

A federal court challenge to Georgia’s congressional and state legislative districts, based on alleged violations of § 2 of the Voting Rights Act, intentional discrimination, and on the unjustified predominant use of race.

The case was consolidated with Common Cause v. Raffensperger on Feb. 3, 2022, though documents continued to be filed on both dockets.

On Oct. 26, 2023, the trial court denied the state’s motion for summary judgment.  And on Nov. 1, 2023, the court stayed further proceedings pending the appeal in Pendergrass v. Raffensperger.
