Last Updated Mar 29, 2023
Nos. 5:22-cv-00059, 4:22-cv-00109 (N.D. Fla.)
A federal court challenge to existing malapportioned maps anticipating legislative failure to redraw lines after the census.
After a map was enacted in special session in April 2022, plaintiffs amended their complaint to challenge the enacted map as the product of intentional racial discrimination. On Nov. 8, 2022, the court dismissed the Governor as a defendant but otherwise rejected a motion to dismiss.
